Discover the wonderful world of warm-weather yarns

Ready for warm-weather knitting? We have some wonderful new spring and summer yarns at A Tangled Skein, plus gorgeous new colors of some of your old favorites.
In the brand-new category, check out MillaMia, a Swedish yarn that’s extremely popular in Europe. Classic Elite is now distributing MillaMia in the United States, and we have a great selection. This naturally soft, 100 percent merino yarn in DK weight is perfect for baby and children’s patterns, especially stripes and Fair Isle. We have three beautiful pattern books in stock plus some individual home decor patterns that use this great yarn.
For a baby and children’s yarn in a heavier weight, there’s economical Cherub Aran from Cascade. This easy-care 55 percent nylon and 45 percent acrylic yarn has a soft texture with a slight halo effect.
For some easy summer glitz, try shiny, cord-style Toledo from On Line or the ribbon yarns Macaibo from Schulana and Sanibel from Classic Elite. They’re perfect for jewlery or an accent scarf.
New from Noro is luxurious Shiraito, a 45 percent cashmere, 45 percent angora, 10 percent wool fingering-weight yarn. It’s soft and light, perfect for summer knitting in a Noro blend of jewel tones.
Luna and Luna Paints from Cascade are 100 percent cotton yarns in solids and handpainted variegated colors The fine wrap gives a rippled texture that shows off color work.
And traditionalists will love Rowan’s Creative Linen, a 50 percent linen, 50 percent cotton yarn that’s great for a summer shell or light t-shirt but with a color palette that can carry you all the way into fall.
We’ve also freshened up the color selection of a number of our most popular warm-weather yarns from past seasons. There’s Firefly from Classic Elite, 75 percent viscose, 25 percent linen, with a hint of shine, great for light summer cardigans; recycled Revive from Rowan, 36 percent silk, 36 percent cotton, 28 percent viscose, for a tweedy, heathery look; Hempathy from Classic Elite, 34 percent hemp, 41 percent cotton, 25 percent modal, perfect for a summer top or household items like placemats, table runners and napkins; shiny and lightweight Sublime Bamboo and Pearls, 70 percent bamboo-sourced viscose and 30 percent pearl-sourced viscose, good for all summer garments in a wide color range; and Universal’s Cotton Supreme, 100 percent cotton in solid and variegated colors, a perfect choice for baby garments, summer tops and dish cloths.
In short, make A Tangled Skein your headquarters for spring and summer knitting!
