An important announcement from Larry and Cheryl

We regret to announce that after six wonderful years, we are retiring and A Tangled Skein is closing its doors.

Beginning Jan. 10, we will hold a wall-to-wall store-closing sale. We will liquidate every item of merchandise in our store, including yarn, needles, patterns, books, kits, notions, accessories and much, much more. We will also sell all our store fixtures, furniture and equipment. All sales will be final.

Come to our store on Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday (yes, we will be open on Monday for that week only), Tuesday and Wednesday, Jan. 10–16, before the sale is announced in the media. To prepare for this sale, we will be closed on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, Jan. 7–9.

Everyone who reads this announcement is invited to this preview sale. You will have the first opportunity to shop and save on our entire inventory before many items are sold out.

Please arrive early for the best selection. The sale begins on Thursday, Jan. 10, at 11:00 a.m. sharp! We may not have finished placing sale tags on all our merchandise, but if you have your invitation we will extend a special discount to you and your guests on any items in the store that have not already been marked down.

To get you started toward winning, simply mention seeing this announcement the first time you visit our sale and you’ll receive 3,000 bonus prize points just for stopping by! We made the difficult decision to close our doors only after careful consideration. Our Retirement Sale is our way of thanking you for six wonderful years of business and friendship. We look forward to seeing you take advantage of these huge savings while helping us to accomplish our goal of being free to pursue new adventures in our lives.

We know you will have questions about store policies and operations during the closing process, and we may not always be available to take your phone calls. We have prepared an FAQ (see below), and will also try to respond to e-mails sent to fineyarns@aol.com.

What about your Frequent Buyer program? We will no longer issue Frequent Buyer cards, and you will not accrue Frequent Buyer points during the Retirement Sale. However, we will honor all Frequent Buyer credits you have accumulated, even if you have not reached the threshold of $250 in purchases. We will also honor gift certificates and any other store credits (for example, credits we have previously issued for returned merchandise).

Will classes continue until you close? The classes that begin in January will continue as scheduled. We will make an announcement about February classes shortly.

Will you still hold Wednesday and Thursday Sit and Stitch sessions? Except for the Sit and Stitch that would normally be held on Wednesday, Jan. 9, when we will be closed, we will continue Sit and Stitch until our final day of operation if there is demand.

What will your hours be during the sale? Except for the fact that we will be open an extra day—Monday, Jan. 14, 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.—our hours of operation will not change.

Will you continue to accept credit cards and checks? Yes.
